What's Happening on the Farm - May


FUN ON THE FARM

These adult/child farm classes include Mrs. D Cooking, puppetry, farm walks, crafts, a pony ride, stories and games.  Each month will focus on a different theme:  May - Farm Animals, and June - Flowers on the Farm.  Adult/child teams only.

  • Ages:  2-5
  • Cost:  $56/resident and $67/non-resident
  • Hours:  10:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays.

FARM TOURS FOR SCHOOLS AND GROUPS
Tour themes vary by season:  Kids on the Farm, Springtime in the Barnyard, Fall at the Farm, Pioneer Days.  Tours are available on weekdays and are approximately one hour long. 

  • Ages:  Most tours are appropriate for children ages 2 and older.
  • Cost:  $90 for 15 or fewer people (children and adults).
    • Additional attendees:  $6 per child and $2.50 per adult. 
    • Staff:  Free.

Kelsey Creek Farm

Open 365 days a year, Kelsey Creek Community Park features 150 acres of forest, meadows and wetlands in the heart of Bellevue, offering a glimpse of this city's rural past. 

Barns

The farm's two historic barns sit prominently on the crest of a hill, overlooking the shallow valleys to each side.  These barns, listed in the Washington State Heritage Barn Register, were once home to the Twin Valley Dairy. 

Park Features

Kelsey Creek Community Park features hiking and jogging trails, picnic areas, a playground, wetlands, open grassy areas, creeks and forests. The historic Fraser Cabin sits on the hill adjacent to the park's historic dairy barns. The Eastside Heritage Center hosts drop-in programs for visitors, and the city offers a number of log cabin programs. 

Animals

Kelsey's farm animals function as educational animals and are used in classes, programs, special events.  Learn more about Kelsey Creek Farm's resident animals.

Mission

Kelsey Creek Farm's mission is:

  • To preserve the site's natural resources;
  • To share its historic farm environment with the community through education;
  • To provide free and/or affordable programs, activities and events;
  • To support and interpret this unique and treasured public farm. 

No Pets Allowed In Barnyard

When visiting Kelsey Creek Community Park, all dogs and other pets must be on leash at all times. Out of respect to the farm animals' health and well-being, all pets are strictly prohibited from the barnyard.
