BYT Auditions

The Bellevue Youth Theatre is dedicated to providing opportunities for all young people in the theatre, ages 8 to 19, or children under 8 with a parent or guardian present at all times. Persons with disabilities, families and older adults are encouraged to participate. The focus of the BYT is to build self-esteem, teamwork and confidence while performing in a supportive environment. Children under 12 and first-time participants can expect smaller roles and limited lines. Parents of 5-10 Year-Olds - READ THESE STEPS!

Step 2: 
REGISTER ONLINE for one cast only. *Registration begins August 7 for Bellevue residents, August 16 for non-residents; and ends September 7.  Limited spaces are available.*  Please note:  Bellevue Parks Online registration system is compatible with Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox browsers.  It is NOT compatible with Chrome or Safari. 

Step 3:  Attend MANDATORY parent orientation on Thursday, September 14 at Bellevue Youth Theatre, at 5 p.m. for parents of children ages 5-10.

The Pied Piper of Hamelin

This is a fun show about rats taking over a town and the Pied Piper making the town whole again.  It's a great show for all ages and families.

As You Like It

Experience all the joys of this delightful Shakespeare play.  This show is great for teens and adults, with parts for all ages.

  • Course 111069 for 5-10 year-olds (15 spots available)
  • Rehearsal location: Bellevue Youth Theatre
  • Rehearsal time: Monday through Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Rehearsals begin:  Monday, September 18
         First meeting at Bellevue Youth Theatre, September 18 at 5 p.m.
  • Tech Week:  The week of November 6 at Bellevue Youth Theatre
  • Performs:  November 10-19 at Bellevue Youth Theatre

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

This fun holiday show has opportunities for everyone to sing in a group.  There are great roles for all, regardless of experience.  THIS PLAY WILL PERFORM OVER THANKSGIVING WEEKEND.

  • Rehearsal location:  South Bellevue Community Center
  • Rehearsal time:  Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Rehearsals begin:  Monday, September 18
  • Tech Week: The week of November 20 at Bellevue Youth Theatre
  • Performs:  November 24-December 3 at Bellevue Youth Theatre

Miracle on 34th Street - The Musical

This wonderful musical recreates the classic tale of Macy's Santa Claus.  This is a great show for all ages and families.

  • Course 111071 for 5-10 year-olds (30 spots available)
  • Rehearsal location:  Crossroads Community Center
  • Rehearsal time:  Monday through Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Rehearsals begin:  Monday, September 18
         First meeting at Bellevue Youth Theatre, September 18 at 5 p.m.
  • Tech Week:  The week of December 4 at Bellevue Youth Theatre
  • Performs:  December 8-17 at Bellevue Youth Theatre

Fees:
   Residents - Free
   Non-residents - $150

Refunds (for non-Bellevue residents):

  • If you withdraw on or before September 11, you will be refunded $140.
  • If you withdraw on or between September 12-17, your refund will be $75.
  • If you withdraw on or after September 18, you will not receive a refund. 
  • NOTE:  The withdrawal must be processed.  Voicemail and email requests do not constitute being processed.  You must speak to someone live to consider you or your child withdrawn.  If you are calling on the weekend, you may call Bellevue Parks & Community Services' main line at 425-452-6885 and press 1 to be transferred to someone live.
